Ana obtained her degree in Biochemistry at the University of Seville (2015). After that, she moved to Madrid to study a MSc in Molecular Biomedicine at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In 2016 she joined Dr. Ricote´s group (CNIC) thanks to the “CNIC Master Fellowship” in order to investigate the role of Retinoid X Receptors (RXRs) in cardiac function. She is currently working on her PhD trying to figure out the molecular mechanisms by which RXRs control cardiac metabolism and heart disease.

Ana also loves outreach events and actively organises scientific activities, such as CNIC PhDay and “El CNIC se acerca al cole”.
